The most popular event was the 62 mile bike ride. The events fell as follows… 62 miles 22 people 30 miles 23 people 16 miles 11 people 6 miles 9 people 15K run 13 person 1 mile 3 people
The 62 mile bike ride attracted the most out of towners – 80% The 30 mile bike ride attracted 40% out of towners The 16 mile bike ride and run were 100% local. The 1 mile walk was 90% local.
Most of our visitors were from Indiana from 16 different towns and cities. We had participants from Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky and North Carolina. The Hoosier Gym was the draw for the man from North Carolina. Overall, 50% of the total participants were local and 50% out of town.
Our age range was from a 1 year old in her stroller on the walk to a 69 year old on the 30 mile bike ride. The 62 mile ride attracted ages 22-67. The 30 mile ride attracted ages 20-69 The 16 mile ride attracted ages 10-60 We didn’t get ages on the walkers, but it was definitely our widest range.
The 62 mile bike ride was mostly men (90%) The 30 mile ride was more balanced (60% male) The 16 mile bike ride was even (50% male) The walk was basically even.
The EventThe 7th Annual Stride and Ride will take place Saturday, September 29, 2007. The Stride and Ride is a family-oriented event with activities for all skill levels. Proceeds from this event help develop a trails system in Henry County. The run and rides will course through the scenic rolling countryside of Westwood Park in central Henry County enjoying the beauty of the Big Blue River Valley. There will be SAG support which includes home-made cookies as well as drinks. The event is geared to help everyone reach their own personal challenge. Details2006 Stride and Ride Bicycle Route InformationAll bicycle routes pass through Spiceland Park! SAG stops are located approximately every 15 miles and there will be a roving SAG stop and a technical advisor.16 mile ride – this is a scenic ride that is mostly flat. Ideal for families or beginner/intermediate riders. 30 mile ride – this is a good training ride and has hills and prairie. also take a quick loop around the Mount Lawn Speedway. 62 mile ride – this is a good training ride and has more hills. In addition to the Mount Lawn Loop, participants can use the SAG stop in Knightstown to take a tour of the famous Hoosier gym where the movie Hoosiers was filmed.Download (100 KB ~ PDF) and mail in your registration!
