New Sign to NRHT in Lewisville

Read a recent article by HCHC board member Beverly Matthews describing how a local man (photo at right), sceptical about the construction of a new trail in his neighborhood, ended up using it to save his life.

We need volunteers! If you can help monitor existing trails, or help build new ones, please contact us.

Over 4½ miles of the National Road Heritage Trail in Henry county are now completed. The new trail has a crushed limestone base, suitable for foot or fat-tire bicycle traffic, and is in two sections, a 1 ¾-mile section east of Raysville (Knightstown), and a 3-mile section west of Lewisville. Read more.

Horses, ATVs, or motorized vehicles of any sort are prohibited on the trail. If you see anyone in violation, please notify law enforcement. Read our full trail use policy.

Our 2007 System Plan is now available via the web. There are two versions. The full version is a 22 page 2.5 MB pdf file formatted for duplex printing (11 sheets-facing pages). It has three images including a detailed system map. The condensed version is 17 pages, .5 MB, and does not contain any maps.
