Our Mission - Committed to building a healthier community.
Healthy Communities of Henry County, Inc. strives to engage people of all ages and walks of life to become involved physically, mentally, socially, economically and environmentally in improving the quality of life in our community. We believe we must work together with our neighbors, our friends and our families to enrich our lives through the values of a healthy community.
Who We Are
As a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, Healthy Communities of Henry County, Inc. relies on community support and partnership to carry out our mission. We depend on a board of volunteer directors – leaders in our community – to guide us and keep us on mission; passionate volunteers from around Henry County to support us and help us reach our goals; and generous donors in the form of businesses, organizations, families and individuals to sustain us and help us continue building a healthier community.
With our vitality reliant on donations, grants and special gifts, your contribution to Healthy Communities reaches far and wide. In our mission to improve the quality of life in Henry County, we sponsor and participate in many events and projects that add to that end. More specifically, we develop, construct and maintain recreational trails throughout Henry County; sponsor two annual events (Treading for Trails 5k and Raintree Ride) that give individuals the opportunity to get outdoors and engage in a healthy and active lifestyle; advocate for environmental health through education and annual tree planting (in conjunction with Three Rivers SWMD); and support local efforts to increase the health of our community by participating in several health fairs. Through your donation, you are partnering with us to continue these efforts and convey the importance of healthy living in our community.
